Athr Community Standards

Code of Conduct

These rules apply to all members, staff, players, creators, partners, and visitors across our Discord servers, Minecraft servers, websites, events, tournaments, and any other platform connected to Athr and its projects.

Discord and Minecraft platform rules are enforced separately by their own services. Violations on those platforms can also result in moderation action within Athr.

1. Purpose

Our community is built to be a safe, respectful, and enjoyable place for everyone.

By participating in our community, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct, our internal community rules, and the rules of any platform you are using.

2. Platform Rules

All members must follow the official rules of the platforms they use while interacting with our community.

Breaking platform rules may also result in action being taken within our community.

3. Respect and Behaviour

All members must treat others with respect.

  • Harass, bully, threaten, target, or intimidate others.
  • Use slurs, hate speech, discriminatory language, or offensive remarks.
  • Encourage others to harass, dogpile, raid, or target another person or community.
  • Mock, shame, or attack people based on personal traits, background, identity, ability, age, or beliefs.
  • Create drama, arguments, or hostile environments on purpose.

Disagreements are allowed, but they must remain respectful.

4. Safety and Personal Information

You must respect the privacy and safety of others.

  • Share someone else's personal information without permission.
  • Threaten to dox, expose, leak, or reveal private information.
  • Ask for sensitive personal information from other members.
  • Share private DMs, staff discussions, tickets, reports, screenshots, or internal information without permission.
  • Encourage unsafe, illegal, or harmful behaviour.

This includes real names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, school information, workplace information, IP addresses, private accounts, or any other identifying information.

5. Appropriate Content

All content shared in the community must be suitable for the space it is posted in.

  • NSFW, sexual, explicit, or highly inappropriate content.
  • Gore, extreme violence, or disturbing content.
  • Illegal content or content encouraging illegal activity.
  • Scam links, phishing links, malware, token grabbers, or suspicious downloads.
  • Excessive spam, flooding, chain messages, or mass pings.
  • Content designed to shock, bait, annoy, or disrupt the community.

Staff may remove content if it is considered unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive, or unsuitable for the community.

6. Discord Conduct

When using our Discord servers, you must:

  • Use channels for their intended purpose.
  • Follow channel-specific rules and instructions.
  • Avoid unnecessary pings, spam, or repeated messages.
  • Respect staff decisions and moderation actions.
  • Not evade mutes, bans, warnings, timeouts, or restrictions.
  • Not use alternate accounts to bypass moderation.
  • Not impersonate staff, members, creators, partners, or official accounts.

Discord raids, mass joining to cause disruption, bot abuse, or organised harassment will result in serious action.

7. Minecraft Server Conduct

When playing on our Minecraft servers, you must follow all server rules and play fairly.

  • Cheat, hack, exploit, or use unfair modifications.
  • Abuse bugs, glitches, economy issues, or server systems.
  • Grief, steal, trap, or damage builds unless specifically allowed by the gamemode.
  • Use inappropriate skins, usernames, item names, builds, signs, books, or chat messages.
  • Bypass punishments using alternate accounts.
  • Intentionally ruin the experience for other players.
  • Abuse claims, permissions, commands, or plugins.

Some gamemodes may have extra rules. Those rules apply alongside this Code of Conduct.

8. Competitive Integrity

For tournaments, events, ranked gameplay, PvP, or competitive activities, all participants must act fairly and honestly.

  • Cheat, boost, throw matches, or manipulate results.
  • Use banned clients, mods, macros, scripts, or unfair advantages.
  • Share false match results or fake evidence.
  • Harass opponents, referees, hosts, or event staff.
  • Refuse to follow tournament instructions.
  • Abuse loopholes in event rules.

Staff and event officials have the final say on match disputes, evidence, and event decisions.

9. Staff and Moderation Respect

Staff are here to keep the community safe and organised.

  • Follow reasonable staff instructions.
  • Use tickets, reports, or appeals properly.
  • Avoid arguing in public channels about moderation decisions.
  • Not harass or pressure staff for punishments, appeals, roles, rewards, or decisions.
  • Not waste staff time with false reports, joke tickets, or misleading information.

If you disagree with a decision, use the correct appeal or complaint process.

10. Reports, Tickets, and Evidence

When making a report, ticket, or appeal, you must be honest.

  • Submit fake reports.
  • Edit or manipulate evidence.
  • Leave out important context on purpose.
  • Abuse the ticket system.
  • Use reports to target or harass another member.

Evidence may include screenshots, message links, recordings, logs, or other relevant information. Staff may reject reports if there is not enough evidence.

11. Advertising and Self-Promotion

Do not advertise without permission.

  • Discord server invites.
  • Minecraft servers.
  • Social media pages.
  • Shops, services, products, or paid offers.
  • DM advertising.
  • Recruitment messages.
  • Giveaways or promotions not approved by staff.

Partnerships, sponsorships, or official collaborations must be approved by the appropriate team.

12. Accounts and Identity

Members are responsible for their own accounts.

  • Share accounts to avoid punishments.
  • Use someone else's account without permission.
  • Pretend to be another person.
  • Use alternate accounts to bypass moderation.
  • Claim your account was used by someone else as an excuse for rule-breaking.

If your account breaks the rules, action may still be taken against it.

13. Under-18 Safety

Our community may include younger members, so all members are expected to behave responsibly.

  • Ask minors for personal information.
  • Send inappropriate messages to minors.
  • Make sexual, suggestive, or unsafe comments towards minors.
  • Encourage minors to break rules, lie about age, or avoid safety systems.
  • Share content unsuitable for younger audiences.

Any behaviour that puts young people at risk will be treated seriously and may be reported to the relevant platform or authority where appropriate.

14. Enforcement

Breaking the rules may result in moderation action.

  • Verbal reminder.
  • Warning.
  • Message deletion.
  • Timeout or mute.
  • Kick.
  • Temporary ban.
  • Permanent ban.
  • Removal from events, teams, roles, or programmes.
  • Report to Discord, Microsoft, Minecraft, or other relevant platforms.

The action taken depends on the severity of the behaviour, previous history, intent, impact, and risk to the community. Serious issues may result in immediate removal without prior warning.

15. Appeals

If you believe action was taken unfairly, you may submit an appeal through the correct appeal process.

  • The punishment was valid.
  • The appeal is dishonest or abusive.
  • Not enough time has passed.
  • The behaviour was too serious.
  • The member is considered a risk to the community.

Appeals should be respectful, honest, and include useful context. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that a punishment will be removed.

16. Final Decision

Athr staff and leadership reserve the right to remove content, restrict access, or take moderation action where needed to protect the community.

Not every situation can be listed in this document. If behaviour is harmful, unsafe, disruptive, or against the spirit of the community, staff may still take action even if it is not specifically named above. By remaining in the community, you agree to follow this Code of Conduct and all relevant platform rules.
